Objectives

"Elements of Connection" is a three-phased project, co-created and developed by all partners involved to build capacity in our organizations and improve employability among youth in Europe. Our leading question in this project was how we, as youth leaders and educators, support young people going through a period of "reevaluation" or transition phases. We aimed to develop a system that supports young people in the transition between “feeling lost” and creating sustainable financial opportunities for themselves. For this, we went on to journey in two directions. First, explore how the labor market is changing and in which way we can be adequate to those movements. And second, exploring what are the needs of our target groups and which of their strategies are sabotaging them on the way. In this process, we have developed a framework that supports youth workers and educators to adapt to the changes in the field and provide quality support for young people. We have provided a professional development environment for more than 30 youth workers, educators, and youth leaders in our networks. More specifically, our objectives were: 1. Providing non-formal and informal learning opportunities for the educational and professional development of 30 youth workers, contributing to a high-quality individual practice as well as to the evolution of our youth work organisations. 2. Building a community of youth workers that can support the quality of our projects and activities for young people in EU programs and beyond. 3. Developing local community practices and contributing to capacity building for quality youth work of the participants and their organization, having a clear impact on the participating youth workers' regular work with young people. The objectives of the project were successfully met. Moreover, we have achieved the following results: 1. A coaching book that is manual to our method and that can be used by youth workers all over Europe. 2. 6 educational videos that complement the book and that can be used by youth workers all over Europe. 3. Conducting a Preparation visit in which 14 youth workers are actively involved in the design and co-creation of our common method. 4. Conducting a Professional Development Activity in which 28 youth workers and 2 facilitators improve their professional qualifications, gain new knowledge and skills and receive a Youthpass certificate that certifies their learnings. 5. Conducting a Local Action in 7 countries, which consists of 10 local offline events and 2 online events that create opportunities for young people with fewer opportunities for professional development. Involving in the Local Action at least 350 young people with fewer opportunities who want to develop their professional skills and find their place in the labor market. 6. Sharing our method (book, video, self-reflection tools) with 7 000 youth workers in Europe and in this way bringing innovation and development in the field
