“Health” has been the most important challenge in the entire world in last a few years because of the Covid-19 pandemics and probably will be the same for the following years, too. Staying at homes without doing any sports is very harmful for our bodies and psychologies. Not doing sports forces us to stay in isolation and brings new barriers in our minds such as stress, inaction, passivity, hopelessness, anxiety, depression, fears, sadness, frustration, loneliness, lack of self-confidence and so on. These factors cause new difficulties; less sleeping, eating problems, weak immune system, getting addicted with tobacco, alcohol or other harmful things etc. By means of this project we wanted to show our participants this positive side of our existence as well. We realized that staying healthy and surviving this pandemic will open many new ways in our future. So, in this project our participants will learn how to see the glass half full in a rationalistic way. Our participants had a chance to learn that young people and their well-being/sanitary was the key for making the society together, stronger. They learnt that they could change the whole world by changing themselves. Besides these, we had also some important practical activities which was performed with some non-formal methods (theater, performance etc.) about how to be careful about social distance, how to wash hands, how to use and save water in better way, how to use masks so on and make them consider the importance of all these facts. We also wanted to show the ways to our participants how to stay stronger mentally, psychologically and physically during and after a crisis. By having our exchange, we aimed to handle these challenges (above mentioned) and come down them. Once we explained them to our participants, they got awareness of negative sides of staying moveless for long time. Also, we talked about the importance of bodily exercises, too. In this manner, in this project we had a chance to talk/discuss and learn about; • importance of staying healthy and rationalization of the current situation, • how to find real, effective and useful solutions, • reasons and causes of anxiety, stress and depression, • how to make life more affordable when staying home alone, • how to avoid negative components which affect our mental health (stress, hopelessness, feeling lonely, feeling of useless etc.), • how hobbies and other deals can have positive effect on our life, • how doing right exercise (such as yoga, plates, dance, breathing techniques etc.) can make our daily life better, • the connection between individual health and community health. The positive effects of sports on people’s health is indisputable because the serotonin hormones are released which is also known as “the hormone of happiness”. In addition to this, doing sports enables people to lose weight, gain muscles and feel fresh. These are the physical effects of it. Sports have psychological effects for people, too. For this reason, psychologists advise the people with depression to start doing sports, while psychiatrists lead drug addicted people doing sports in order to enable them to get freshened. A healthy mind is in a healthy body; a healthy body is in a healthy society. Our project reminded the participants this, as well. Making people more aware of an issue, getting them together with different people in an international atmosphere, making them participate more actively in workshops, helping them to find their own sources, capacities, preparing an environment with ideas of freedom of speech, tolerance, empathy, understanding, respect, showing them the importance of international collaboration, making their time full of informal learning activities and free time were some of our goals.
