Objectives

The aim of this project was to improve the English communication skills and knowledge of basic Portuguese language of 29 students from LO in Iłża. The project also aimed to increase students' knowledge of sustainable development during a two-week mobility at the Portuguese secondary school Escola Secundária de Vila Verde. In addition, the project was an excellent opportunity for the teaching staff to learn about good practices in implementing sustainable environmental principles into school life and extracurricular activities. The project also aimed to introduce new initiatives to develop soft skills among young people, such as building self-confidence, learning to work in an international pair, expressing their own opinions, and speaking in a foreign language in front of a group.

Background

Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Mikołaja Kopernika w Iłży is a public educational institution with a long tradition and a strong position in the Radom County area. The school offers comprehensive education, focusing not only on teaching but also on developing students' social and personal competencies. This project was the first of its kind undertaken by the school in the Erasmus+ School Education sector.
