The main objectives of the project were: • to deepen teachers' knowledge in supporting students with learning difficulties and challenges in functioning at school, • to provide support for students with disabilities, specific learning difficulties and mental health issues, • to observe educational practices in other schooling systems, • to strengthen teachers' potential in terms of methodological, cultural and linguistic competencies, • to enhance teaching methods with modern approaches compliant with European standards, • to equip teachers with modern teaching technologies, enabling them to apply methods that meet European standards and provide students with engaging materials, • to improve organisational competencies (effective project management skills), • to increase the level of language proficiency in English.
Our school has existed for 60 years. In recent years, we have modified our educational program to meet students' needs. For 20 years, we have been the only high school in the city with inclusive classes. Challenges from inclusive education, bilingual teaching, and remote learning during the pandemic have highlighted the need for staff training and personal development. The school seeks to improve its work quality and international cooperation. The short-term project "Equal School" allowed teachers to enhance their skills, observe educational practices in other systems, and establish connections with European colleagues. Its main goal was to support students with special needs, while also strengthening teachers' methodological, cultural, and linguistic competencies. Through ICT courses, teachers were equipped with modern teaching technologies. Both participation in job shadowing and training courses aimed to prepare teachers in effective mediation, communication, and psychology. For many teachers, participating in the courses was an additional motivating factor to work not only on their teaching methods but also on self-improvement.
