Objectives

Through the implementation of the project under the Erasmus+ programme, our main objective was to create a space that would enable young people to (1) develop their interpersonal competences and deepen their interest in social and civic topics, and (2) integrate in a sustainable way with their peers from different backgrounds. The activities also aimed to increase the quality of public debate and to build participants' sense of agency and subjectivity by giving them maximum decision-making power in the activities carried out. As a non-formal organization focused on the education of young adults, we were keen to create a systematic learning process that was not limited to participation in individual activities, but was a continuous, well-planned educational process. Our activities were a reaction to the immediate needs and suggestions that emerged during the evaluation of our previous projects. Thus, we wanted to ensure the continuity of our activities, increase our impact on the target group, and build greater visibility for our organization. Throughout the project, we also focused on bringing young people closer to the European Union - not only through knowledge of the institution itself, but also by engaging them in an open dialogue about issues that can be addressed at European level. The project was based on the priorities of the NextGeneration EU fund, such as ecology, digitalization, health, equality and a strong Europe, all of which proved to be extremely relevant to our beneficiaries. Finally, we concluded the project with a conference preceding the European Parliament elections in 2024, which was a symbolic culmination of the 20th anniversary of Poland's presence in the EU and was an ideal venue to discuss the role of the Union from the perspective of the young generation. The implementation of the project confirmed our belief that non-formal education provides an excellent platform to equip young Europeans and Europeans with the skills and attitudes necessary to shape the world they live in, as well as to build lasting relationships beyond the systems in which they function on a daily basis (school, university, work). Our experience shows that civic and pro-European activity requires continuous work, systematic stimuli and inspiring encounters, which we have tried to provide in this project and intend to continue in the future.
