Objectives

The aim of the WW project was to strengthen the soft skills of adults active in local communities. Participants developed leadership, communication, mediation, and organizational skills essential for effectively implementing social, educational, and integration activities. The project addressed challenges related to the influx of refugees and migrants, as well as the need to build relationships in culturally diverse environments. A key result was the development of the “Local Coalitions” scenario – a tool supporting local integration activities. WW also aimed to facilitate the exchange of good practices between organizations from Poland and Italy and to adapt proven solutions to local contexts. Another objective was to improve access to adult education through the introduction of modern methods and ICT tools, as well as to promote sustainable development by reducing resource consumption and encouraging environmentally conscious practices. An important premise of the project was also the creation of a lasting network among participants that would continue beyond the project, as well as the strengthening of each organization’s capacity to implement future educational and integration initiatives

Background

The project 'Academy of Knowledge – developing soft skills of local leaders' was developed in response to specific educational needs of adults active in local communities in Poland and Italy. Deficiencies were identified in the area of soft skills necessary for effective work with socially and culturally diverse groups. Particularly important were skills related to communication, stress management, emotional intelligence, and teamwork. The project also responded to the urgent need for the integration of migrants and refugees, especially in the context of experiences from border regions and the work of Italian organizations supporting migrants. A key objective was to enable the exchange of experiences and good practices between partners and to strengthen the capacity of non-profit organizations, which often have limited resources for educational development. The project also promoted digital education and sustainable development. Funding from the Erasmus+ programme made it possible to implement professional training and workshop activities, develop the 'Local Coalitions' scenario, and increase the involvement of local leaders in integration and civic engagement at both local and international levels.
