Objectives

By implementing the project, we achieved the following goals: - strengthening the self-confidence of older people by appreciating local cultural heritage, - social inclusion of older people by developing digital skills, - improving the skills of educators in the approach to intergenerational learning and digital storytelling, - promoting local cultural heritage through intergenerational education and digital storytelling, - developing and strengthening the European network for intergenerational dialogue, - enabling the transformation of intergenerational attitudes.

Background

The project was directly linked to the priorities of all the organizations involved in the project – providing opportunities for learning and intergenerational integration, supporting innovative learning, increasing the digital skills of the local community and developing the competences of educators. Thanks to the implementation of the project, the LIBRARY IN ŻORY created a generation bridge that engaged the elderly and young people in joint activities through the use of storytelling about cultural heritage and digital skills. The LIBRARY IN ARUCAS, having extensive experience in storytelling, integrated it with the digital aspect and intergenerational learning. EDUVITA combined the previously used intergenerational storytelling in digital form with the valorization of cultural heritage. MY MADEIRA ISLAND also created a generation bridge that engaged the elderly and young people in joint activities through the use of storytelling about cultural heritage and digital skills.
