Objectives

1: Gather and disseminate expert knowledge and best practices from 3 countries on how to build a strong local community that includes adults inactive and at risk of exclusion; 2: Development of project partners towards innovative centers of education, culture and activation through the analysis of the initial state and implementation of innovative solutions [priorities: Creating Future-Oriented Education Centers and Creating and promoting educational opportunities) 3: Development of staff and their linguistic, digital, social and multicultural competences. An important aspect of the project was not only examining the current state of needs and creating educational programs in each organization , but also continuous improvement and continuation of the project in the future. So that the acquired knowledge (gathered into an universal Guidebook) has a wide reach and a real impact on other communities, we wanted to build around the project a network of cities, districts, non-governmental organizations and cultural centers , which may be the participants of other future projects and online events continuing and developing the idea of Micropolis.

Background

As institutions closely related to culture and education, we felt that the best remedy for the current crises is a well-functioning local community. We wanted to gather and exchange know-how from different countries - how to built such communities, we wanted to check on our examples - what practical improvements it's possible to implement, so that the local community functions better. Before it - we wanted to run a professional survey that would show the most important challenges in our communities. We also spotted the strong need to organize knowledge that we already have and transform it into one coherent methodology and strategy for community-oriented projects. In all partner countries we had the same situation - that local organizations that work with a local community don't cooperate with each other. It was a strong need to change it and to start working more in networks to achieve bigger synergy effect and better exchange of know-how. Creation of international network around Micropolis idea was also one of our important motivations for the project.
