The project’s objective was to eliminate the mismatch between knowledge and skills actually possessed and those necessary in working with refugees in Poland, France, Germany and the Netherlands. Thanks to experienced trainers and based on good practices from within and outside the partnership, the project’s objective was to improve the knowledge and skills of staff and volunteers in the area of working with refugees, to share refugee experiences and work with refugees, and more broadly, also outside the partnership – to strengthen awareness of issues related to migration, including combating xenophobia and refugee exclusion.
The partnership, in its approximate composition, has been cooperating for years, implementing, among others, Erasmus+ projects. Among the projects implemented so far are, among others, projects responding to the need related to the quality of work, remote work, training of trainers and work with volunteers. In the meantime, in the face of migration crises and the growing number of refugees in all the partnership countries, the need was noticed to improve the knowledge and skills of staff and volunteers in the field of refugee issues: qualitative and harmless integration of refugees, proper provision of assistance to refugees, work with them, combating prejudice and xenophobia towards migrants, migrant policy and information on refugee problems, cultural and language differences. As a result, a decision was made to implement a project based on the knowledge of trainers and good practices in individual organizations to facilitate work with refugees, many of whom work in our associations on a daily basis.
