Objectives

When implementing the project, we wanted to: Gain experience in foreign cooperation, develop and increase the potential of our institutions. Involve people with fewer opportunities in long life learning education who under normal circumstances, would not have the opportunity to acquire/update their qualifications. Enable all interested people, in particular people with fewer opportunities, excluded and at risk of social exclusion, to take up work as a caregiver for an elderly and disabled person through free access to an educational platform using which they will be able to take a course for a caregiver of an elderly and disabled person, acquire or complete competences/qualifications, validate the acquired knowledge and skills and receive a certificate. Develop publicly available educational materials that we will include in our current activities in the form of a course for caregivers of the elderly and disabled people and an online platform where the created materials will be available. Create an online forum through which caregivers will be able to exchange information, together solve problems occurring during their work, inform about important events, changes in regulations, etc.

Background

We applied for the project because, while carrying out tasks related to the provision of care services and cooperating with organizations providing support for dependent people including: Social Welfare Centers, Foundations and Associations, we noticed a problem with access to training enabling the acquisition and development of competences in the profession of a caregiver of a dependent person for people from smaller towns, experiencing communication exclusion, in a difficult economic situation, etc. There were no free, publicly available and remote tools on the market that would allow interested people to acquire or update competences and qualifications enabling them to work as a caregiver for dependent people. In addition, we wanted to establish cooperation with vocational education institutions related to ours, gain experience in implementing international projects, and develop the ability to cooperate abroad. Develop free and publicly available tools that will allow people with fewer opportunities, excluded or at risk of social exclusion, who have difficult access to formal education in a stationary form, to be included in lifelong learning.
