Objectives

We applied for this project because we believe in its vision to empower young people by building their digital leadership, communication, and virtual teamwork skills—key areas that directly impact their employability. Many youth today face challenges in keeping up with the digital demands of the job market. This project offers practical, innovative training that equips participants not only with technical competencies but also with intercultural awareness, tolerance, and teamwork. It provides a space to learn and share non-formal methods like hackathons and agile development, which are essential in today’s fast-paced world. We also saw the chance to exchange best practices, promote inclusion and entrepreneurship, and contribute to developing training content and online resources that benefits both youth and youth workers. This initiative supports lasting impact by preparing young people to lead confidently in the digital era while strengthening community resilience and connection.

Background

We applied for this project to contribute to the development of young digital leaders who can confidently navigate and shape today’s rapidly evolving digital society. Through our engagement, we aim to address the critical gap in digital literacy, employability, and cross-cultural e-communication skills among youth aged 18–30. This project directly responds to the needs identified through research and consultations: many young people lack the skills increasingly demanded in modern workplaces. Additionally, youth workers need updated training to remain effective mentors in this digital era. They need to acquire new tools and to adapt to the fast-changing circumstances before developing skills in youths. They should explain different aspects of digital leadership and e-communication, adopt vital tasks and follow up with the youths based on their wants and needs. We intend to help create inclusive, forward-looking tools and training that go beyond traditional models—empowering both young people and youth workers to communicate, collaborate, and lead across digital platforms. This initiative also strengthens our organization’s capacity to serve its community with up-to-date resources and practices.
