Objectives

The project aimed to empower rural communities by addressing challenges such as depopulation and limited opportunities. Objectives included promoting the exchange of good practices among partners in Portugal, Spain, and Italy; enhancing the digital, creative, and entrepreneurial skills of young adults and educators; and fostering soft skills, innovation, and a sense of initiative. By creating high-quality training opportunities, the project sought to strengthen participants' connection to their communities and the European Union, encouraging them to take an active role in rural development. Additionally, the "Rural Creative Labs Toolkit" was developed to ensure the sustainability and replication of the project's methodologies. These efforts contributed to building stronger networks, fostering European identity, and promoting innovation in rural areas.

Background

Rural areas across europe face significant challenges, including depopulation, limited opportunities, and a lack of access to quality learning experiences. Young adults in these regions often feel compelled to leave in search of better prospects. We applied for this project to address these needs by fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among young adults, equipping them with essential digital and creative skills, and connecting them with a supportive european network. Specifically, we aimed to tackle the lack of: high-quality learning opportunities: limited access to training in digital skills, entrepreneurship, and creative fields. support for adult educators: a need for increased competences among educators working with young adults in rural areas. opportunities for rural youth: limited opportunities for personal and professional development, networking, and intercultural exchange.
