Development of the institutional capacity of Contesti School for effective communication with adults in the community, until August 2024.

Background

Balteni School, structure of the School with legal personality “Dr. Mioara Mincu”, operates in rural areas, in a predominantly roma community. Since 2021, supported by CJ DB and ISJ DB, our school has responded to the requests of the Roma Community to be able to continue and complete their studies, without having influenced their family life and possible professional activities. As a result of our school’s involvement in POCU projects, when carrying out the needs analysis, around 100 Roma people were identified who did not attend school or abandoned it during the primary or secondary school. Although one part of them have been included in Second Chance courses, we did not consider that these would have been sufficient and we identified the need for teacher training activities in order to acquire higher skills, so that the teachers later managed to create an attractive climate that meets the needs of adult students from disadvantaged groups.
