Objectives

Through the implementation of this project, we have proposed to increase the degree of awareness of inclusion at the level of interpersonal communication, to implement 5 interactive learning methods included in an online learning guide, to increase the degree of professional development of teaching staff through learning activities carried out in the De La Salle College Sixth Form School, in Malta, to increase by 7-10% the motivation of students from disadvantaged backgrounds to actively participate in the learning process, by creating a multicultural space and international learning. The target groups were students between the ages of 13 and 16 and teachers from the three partner schools. Also, we have proposed that through the implementation of this project, both the students who are now in schools, as well as those who will enter in the following years, as well as the teachers will use all the resources created within this project, sustainability being ensured through the results and the resources of the project, and the benefit following the implementation of the project, to be a high one, at various human levels: communication, relational, linguistic, digital skills.

Background

We applied for this project because the students and teachers from the three partner countries, Romania, Malta, Greece, came from a pandemic period, in which they felt the lack of human communication and we discovered, after feasibility studies, the fact that the students and teachers have common needs: more than 25% of them find it difficult to integrate in school and need counseling, they do not integrate into the groups they belong to, they feel excluded, lack self-esteem, have emotions in what concerns public speaking or group activities and do not have the courage to participate in projects, 30% are commuters and face the problem of integration in the class. We applied for this project in order to come up with a solution to solve these needs and for both students and teachers to be able to develop in an inclusive environment, through the activities carried out to learn in a school where education is carried out at the highest level quality, being connected to other European education systems and thus learning from each other what personal and professional development means in a European learning environment. Now, the students and teachers, are be able to see the world after this project, not as it is, but as it can be.
