O1: Develop new teaching methods among a number of 18 teachers from 3 European schools as regards the integration of green skills in different lessons from the fields of technology, science, arts, literature, ICT, science within a period of 12 months and after the project. O2: Develop responsible attitudes towards the environment among a number of 54 students from 3 partner schools within a period of 12 months. O3: Develop key competences among the participant teachers and students, as part of the life long learning process.
The project is based on a SWOT analysis carried out in the partner schools in September 2022 among a number of 300 students and 50 teachers which revealed that more than the 70% of the students interviewed do not recycle selectively at home, most of them buy lots of vegetables and food even though they live in the country side (their parents do no grow any more vegetables and fruit), they rarely turn off their computers/phones at night and they use way too much energy, they organise ecological activities only in schools and a percentage of 90% travel by car or another means of transport to school. As almost all of them said, they are more eco-friendly during the activities organised in schools so we realised that we should do more in school but do it in a way that is not overwhelming to teachers, keep the programme, respect the school timetable, the curricula, only change the methods. And here we identified the need of the teachers, to be trained in order to develop new methods that focus on the integration of eco-friendly behaviour and attitudes, awareness regarding the protection of the natural environment and development of green skills in the teaching-learning-evaluation process of a variety of school subjects.
