Objectives

The main objectives of the project, fully achieved through the project activities, were: O1: Development of practical skills for applying circular economy principles in recyclable waste management O2: raising awareness of the interdependence between correct waste management and carbon footprint reduction O3: improving the exchange of good practices between partner schools in order to increase the positive impact of the circular economy on the environment O4: Active participation in the project of VET students with SEN in order to work on inclusion in this type of actions and that may have social repercussions in the transition from academic to working life. Achieving the objectives led to obtaining relevant results, tangible or intangible, that were disseminated and capitalized in each partner school, but also in the local communities. By integrating the results into the didactic strategies of the partner schools, the quality of VET students' professional training was increased; sharing the results with the local communities contributed to supporting the mechanisms of the circular economy and sustainable development of society.

Background

We unfolded this partnership in order to find together new ways to solve common, but also specific environmental problems, identified through needs analysis and student surveys, in the field of promoting the circular economy. Concretely, we carried out activities in our schools and transnationals, for the implementation of the 3 R's -Reduce, Reuse, Recycle in waste management, especially those from the plastic, industrial and textile sectors. The practical activities and workshops carried out contributed to achieving most of the needs identified at the partnership level: - improving the skills to apply circular economy mechanisms by reducing the amount of plastic, industrial and textile waste - formation of skills for efficient reuse of plastic, industrial and textile waste - the development of ecological behaviors and the correct recycling of plastic, industrial and textile waste - promoting the principles of the circular economy for the sustainable development of communities. The VET students put into practice simple solutions for reusing waste - mechanisms of the circular economy and reducing the carbon footprint.
