Objectives

The primary objective of the VIRTUAL SENS project was to transform foreign language education for SEN students by integrating VR and AR technologies. We aimed to equip teachers with the skills and resources to create interactive and inclusive learning experiences. Specific objectives included raising awareness about the benefits of VR in education, developing practical educational resources, and enhancing the professional competencies of teachers. The project sought to make learning more engaging and effective for SEN students, ultimately improving their educational outcomes and inclusion within the classroom.

Background

We applied for the VIRTUAL SENS project to address the significant gap in engaging and effective educational practices for Special Educational Needs (SEN) students. Traditional teaching methods often do not adequately cater to the unique needs of these students, resulting in lower engagement and poorer learning outcomes. The project aimed to leverage innovative technologies like Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) to create immersive, inclusive, and engaging learning environments. By doing so, we sought to provide educators with the tools and skills needed to enhance the educational experiences and outcomes for SEN students, ensuring they receive quality education tailored to their needs.
