Objectives

‘From Caterpillar to Butterfly’ project had 3 main objectives. OBJECTIVE 1: To develop by 75% the professional competences of 22 youth workers in order to be able to use the Resource-based Human Wholeness Model so that they can support vulnerable youth to build their competences. - We focused on supporting young people in the process of acknowledging their inner strengths and talents and the overall development of social competences. OBJECTIVE 2: To develop by 75% the professional competences of 22 youth workers to be able to use Eco-soulcentric Development Education so that they can facilitate the transition from youth to adulthood of youth (especially of the ones with fewer opportunities). - We addressed the need of young people to be supported in the transition into adulthood and to foster their employment based on their innate gifts. OBJECTIVE 3: To develop by 75% the professional competences of 22 youth workers to be able to use Mentoring so that they can facilitate the inclusion of youth (especially of the ones with fewer opportunities). - We addressed the need of young people for inclusion, for being heard and understood and ultimately to find their place in the world.

Background

We implemented the ‘From Caterpillar to Butterfly’ project in response to the growing social challenges faced by young people and youth workers in the context of the global crisis. The project addressed the need for innovative, high-quality youth work approaches that move beyond surface-level interventions and support deeper inclusion and meaningful participation in society. Through an Ecocentric and Soulcentric approach, the project fostered social inclusion to ease young people’s transition into adulthood and supported the development of skills and competences, with particular attention to youth with fewer opportunities. The project addressed the needs of young people with fewer opportunities, particularly the need to be heard and understood, to feel included, to find their place within the community and to be supported in the transition to adulthood, while fostering ways of living that honor our unique human potential and enable authentic contribution to the world. At the same time, it responded to key needs of youth workers by offering innovative concepts, quality approaches, practical tools, empowerment in daily practice and accessible online learning opportunities.
