Objectives

The CREATORS project aimed to empower young trauma survivors by providing innovative tools and methodologies to support their emotional recovery and resilience. Central objectives included fostering self-expression and healing through creative writing, equipping youth workers with advanced skills and strategies, and enhancing their ability to address the needs of trauma-affected individuals effectively. Another goal was to strengthen cross-sectoral collaboration and knowledge exchange among partner organizations in Romania, Spain, and Poland, ensuring the development and dissemination of best practices. The project sought to promote inclusivity and foster the integration of third-country nationals, emphasizing strategies for navigating complex social challenges. Through the creation of an interactive book as a key resource, CREATORS worked to provide accessible, practical tools for emotional recovery and self-discovery, while fostering a deeper understanding of trauma and its impacts. The project also aspired to enhance the quality of youth work, align with EU priorities for digital transformation, and build long-term capacities for community healing and support systems.

Background

The CREATORS project was initiated in response to the pressing need to support young individuals who have experienced trauma, particularly in the context of the ongoing humanitarian challenges, such as those posed by the war in Ukraine. This project sought to provide innovative, creative writing tools to empower trauma survivors, recognizing the scarcity of resources for addressing the mental health needs of the refugees and those impacted by war. The project addressed gaps in youth work, enhancing skills for supporting trauma survivors and providing inclusive tools to rebuild emotional safety. It also prioritized digital transformation, aligning with EU goals for inclusivity and digital access in education and social services. CREATORS addressed these needs through a transnational partnership among Romania, Spain, and Poland, fostering cross-sectoral expertise exchange. Central to the project was an interactive book featuring creative writing exercises to aid trauma recovery, build confidence, and foster resilience. The project also enhanced youth workers' skills and support strategies for integrating third-country nationals, prioritizing community healing and improving youth work quality.
