The project aimed to enhance the knowledge of adults and professionals for the concept of ESG; an approach to evaluate the extent to which a corporation works on behalf of social goals that go beyond the role of a corporation to maximize profits on behalf of the corporation's shareholders. Via the project the consortium aimed to assist organizations to measure and evaluate their ESG performance by using appropriate digital tools. Our objective was to train the adults and professionals to recognize and track the key sustainability KPIs to deliver a representative ESG performance for their organization, as well as to provide practical suggestions to improve it, for the benefit of both the entity, the employees, the society, and the environment. At the end of the project, the provided knowledge and tools to adults and professionals added value to their portfolio while at the same time directly impacting their organization’s transition towards sustainability, as it was initially aimed.

Background

ESG metrics and sustainability performance is a difficult and complex procedure for people who have not expertise, so the interested companies should be supported properly. Measuring the ESG metrics by using digital tools is the only way to do it efficiently. The choice of ESG metrics, the required data entry, and the evaluation of the results should be carefully made. The abundance of available solutions can confuse the professionals who want to draw and deliver a proper sustainability plan for their organization. The training activities of ESG Diagnostic provided the participants with knowledge and perception of the ESG concept and enabled them to identify best practices used by other organizations and suggestions made by sustainability consultants. The digital tools used during the project helped participants to elaborate on a sustainability performance evaluation of their organization, to find key sustainability metrics that should be improved, and to watch the evolution of these metrics after the changes they implement. The project addressed the need of organizations to recognize the solutions that best fit their needs, use the appropriate digital tools to implement them, and decide based on measurable results.
