The SUSENT project aimed to empower young women—especially those with migrant or NEET backgrounds—by strengthening their sustainability, digital, and entrepreneurial skills. The consortium sought to create accessible, practical learning pathways that help participants understand climate-friendly production and gain confidence to explore green entrepreneurship. A key objective was to equip youth workers with high-quality, ready-to-use educational tools, including a Training Curriculum, a Digital Toolkit with animations and templates, and an E-learning Platform with webinars and modules. The project aimed to foster inclusion and gender equality by offering learning experiences adapted to diverse needs and low-threshold entry points such as handmade cosmetics. Another objective was to support digital transformation in youth work through engaging online content. Finally, SUSENT aimed to increase European cooperation, strengthen organisational capacity, and ensure long-term access to open educational resources that promote sustainable entrepreneurship across Europe.
The SUSENT project was created to address clear needs identified across all partner countries. Young women—especially those with migrant backgrounds, low income, or NEET status—face barriers to employability, sustainability knowledge, and access to entrepreneurship. Partners observed that these women often lacked confidence, digital skills, practical experience, and supportive learning environments. Youth workers also lacked accessible, ready-to-use tools for teaching sustainability or green entrepreneurship. According to the project proposal and partner feedback, existing sustainability education was often too theoretical and not adapted to vulnerable groups. The consortium therefore identified the need for practical, inclusive, and engaging training materials that connect sustainability with real opportunities. Using handmade cosmetics as an entry point offered a low-cost, creative and culturally relevant method for teaching green skills, climate awareness, and entrepreneurship. SUSENT was designed to fill these gaps, empower young women, support youth workers, promote gender equality, and contribute to EU priorities on the green transition, digital transformation, and social inclusion.
