Objectives

The We Learn as One Project goal was to improve teachers' skills when it comes to including the students with special educational needs in both social and academic spheres. Our main objectives were the following:  Making sure that the teachers attain a minimum qualification of 70% proficiency in special education.  Teachers became more aware about special education policies in partner countries.  Enabling teachers to make materials appropriate to the interests and abilities of students with special educational needs.  Fostering key competencies in special education among teachers. Additionally, our aim was to:  Foster collaborative work motivation.  Develop EU citizenship.  Improve the skills that involve critical thinking. We wanted the participants to be have the knowledge to either apply their newfound knowledge to other projects or have the confidence to engage in similar initiatives

Background

We have submitted our project project because we are becoming more and more aware of the growing presence of pupils with special needs that are being integrated into mainstream classrooms. Consequently, more and more teachers are experiencing anxieties when facing situations that they are not able to handle because they lack the expertise to address the matters effectively. The primary goal behind the submission of the project was to search for new and fresh solutions for handling the above-mentioned issue. Our objective was to make new opportunities for teachers to enhance their theoretical knowledge by learning important legislative frameworks regarding participants’ countries and by exchanging exemplary practices. As a result, we have developed new teaching materials and improved critical thinking skills which will serve as precious support resources for teachers within the classrooms.
