Objectives

Objective1: Educating the public on the effective use of (alternative) energy sources, including photovoltaics, in cultural heritage sites. The project focused on educating a wide range of target groups, particularly professionals working in the field of cultural heritage. Objective2: Establishing collaboration opportunities for reducing energy costs and utilizing alternative energy sources, including the placement of technical equipment for its production. The partners developed a joint methodology, contributing to a shared discussion on this topic, ensuring maximum transparency in assessing the feasibility of installing photovoltaic systems in cultural heritage sites. Additionally, our goal was to standardize assessment practices not only within Slovakia but also in the Czech Republic. The proposed methodological approaches were professionally discussed and tested in practice. Objective3: Exchanging experiences through best practices from neighboring countries regarding the use of green energy in cultural heritage buildings and sites. The goal was to leverage expertise from existing methodologies used in AT, DE, CH, CZ. Experts were invited to joint meetings and discussions as part of the project's planned educational activities.

Background

Since the partnership operates on a long-term basis, the partners collaborate closely and are familiar with the specific expertise of their prof. staff and their contributions to the field. When designing the project, we took into account the strengths of the partners, their added value to the partnership, and the sharing of results. The goal was to develop method. recommendations for the practical setup and use of photovolt. systems in cultural heritage sites, thereby introducing this highly relevant professional topic to a wider expert audience. Additionally, through targeted training and mutual discussions among partners, the aim was to highlight differences and shared characteristics in how this issue is perceived in both countries. This approach enabled the develop. of preferred procedures for the application of photovolt. systems. The role and representation of photovolt.in cul.heritage sites in SR, the CR, and abroad, were illustrated through examples of best practices from these countries. The long-term application of photovolt. systems in heritage buildings will help clarify the sustainability and future development of such construction projects, allowing for better financial plan. and the the efficiency of these initiatives
