POMYW had several key objectives aimed at addressing the needs of youth workers and, more specifically, those working with LGBT+ young people. The overarching goal was to provide a unique training course that combines community dance methodology, American vernacular dances choreography, dance movement therapy, and embodied learning. The specific objectives of the project were outlined as follows: Develop Innovative Approaches for Daily Youth Work: The project aimed to equip all involved parties, particularly youth workers, with innovative approaches and methods for their daily work. This includes organizing learning experiences and encouraging embodied initiatives and social change within their communities. Enhance Abilities in Community Dance Methodology: Participants were expected to increase their abilities to use community dance methodology. This involved learning and applying various dance and body-based learning methods that are specifically suitable for working with LGBT+ young people. The focus was on fostering the development of young people's creative abilities, confidence, communication skills, and self-awareness through dance. Improve Language Abilities and Intercultural Cooperation: The project aimed to contribute to the personal and professional development of participants by improving their language abilities, fostering intercultural cooperation, and enhancing communication skills. The international nature of the training course was intended to broaden participants' perspectives and develop their professional network on an international level. Address Psychological and Social Challenges Faced by LGBT+ Young People: The project recognized the psychological and social challenges faced by LGBT+ young people, as highlighted by research findings. It seeked to respond to these challenges by providing holistic approaches that focused more on movement and body rather than solely on intellectual activities. This includes addressing issues such as self-harm, suicide attempts, anxiety, stress, and depression among LGBT+ youth. 5) Promote Social Empowerment and Inclusivity: The project aimed to contribute to the social empowerment of marginalized groups, such as LGBT+ young people. It intended to provide participants with tools for self-expression, raise their self-esteem, and enhance body awareness. By doing so, it aimed to strengthen the ability of these individuals to empathize, break stereotypes, increase equality, and facilitate communication across social differences. 6) Build International Capacities for Civic Initiatives: Through the international dimension of the project, participants were expected to increase their abilities to work on a European level. This involved developing a professional network internationally and, as a result, increasing capacities to work or organize civic initiatives at the European level.
