The project "Participation in Practice 3 - What We Knew, We Showed You" was a continuation of the enhancement project "Participation in Practice 2 - Let's Go Further." In the project, we utilized previously acquired knowledge, experiences, and the established contacts of the civic association. The goal of the project was not just to consolidate the change but primarily to present participatory activities and subsequently create and implement new participatory activities. We planned to present and implement these activities at elementary and secondary schools, as well as other Centers for Children and Families in the cities and towns of the districts of Trenčín, Nové Mesto nad Váhom, Ilava, Púchov, and Handlová. We continued to strive for change and the presentation of participation in participatory activities directly on the field, where we implemented activities with politicians who collaborated with target groups of participants from Centers for Children and Families, elementary and secondary schools, an extended group of participants from the Volunteer Center of the city of Trenčín, but also with the public and community where we implemented the activities. The goal was not just to discuss problems but to directly solve them in collaboration with the involved parties. Therefore, we mainly wanted to highlight the already implemented participatory activities in practice that we managed to realize in collaboration with public officials during previous projects. There were always consecutive activities. At the beginning of the project in the schools and centers for children and families, there were presentation-preparation activities, which mainly presented and prepared participants from Centers for Children and Families from previous projects together with the realization team and participants from the respective schools. As part of the preparatory activities, the target group prepared and created a participatory activity in practice using elements and methods of informal education in the community and society where the participants lived and acted. Based on the preparatory activities, we chose the theme and method of the participatory activity in practice, which young people prepared and created on a partnership basis, involving public officials and the public to participate in the activity. During the realization of the activities, we wanted to create an atmosphere open to opinions and comments from various sides. The activities took place over 19 months and the base was in the city of Trenčín. Individual activities were implemented at schools and Centers for Children and Families in the districts of Trenčín, Nové Mesto nad Váhom, Ilava, Púchov, and Handlová. Based on previous projects (Participation in Practice, Participation in Practice 2 - Let's Go Further), we realized many beautiful and valuable practical activities, which we wanted to promote and implement in schools and centers for children and families in selected locations. The place for multi-day activities was adapted to participants based on interest, where and how we wanted to implement participatory activities in practice. During the project implementation, we collaborated with a group of 25 participants. There were 4 accompanying persons from the realization team, and we counted on at least one person with decision-making authority participating in each activity. There were 20 young participants aged 13 to 30, of whom 10 were from Centers for Children and Families who had participated in previous projects, and 10 participants changed based on how the group was formed after presentations at the respective schools or Centers for Children and Families with which we had not previously collaborated in the selected districts of the Trenčín self-governing region. The goal of the project was the presentation of participatory activities in practice, but also further development and advancement of participation in practice, which was attended by young people and the public as well as public officials. This meant that the date for presentation-preparation activities was agreed in advance, and subsequently, based on the needs of the communities and cities in collaboration with politicians, participatory activities in practice were agreed upon and realized. There were 29 activities, of which 12 were presentation-preparation activities and the subsequent 12 were participatory activities in practice in the localities of the cities and towns of the districts of Trenčín, Nové Mesto nad Váhom, Ilava, Púchov, and Handlová. In addition, there were 2 multi-day participatory activities in practice and 3 evaluation meetings. During the realization, we continuously worked on creating a brochure and recommendations for practice, which served as an output from the project during the evaluation meetings and was used to disseminate the results. The project was not about promises but about its direct development and change, which we wanted to achieve. Besides the devel
