Objectives

Based on the concepts of disabled people and accessibility, we wanted to examine these arrangements and to put into practice our thoughts on the redesign and revision of the arrangements made in the past, based on the idea that the arrangements that prevent the disabled people from participating in the main flow of social life also exclude them from social life. In this regard, we have carried out an evaluation of the obstacles on streets, roads, gutters and pavements that reduce or completely destroy the effectiveness of vehicles such as wheelchairs and walkers that facilitate movement; public transport vehicles that assume a common level of mobility of passengers; public information forms such as direction signs that assume a common level of audio-visual ability. By examining the reflections of the same practices in different countries and cultures, we created our project together with our partners and youth workers and designed our work on social arrangements and innovations that can be achieved at the point of implementation. The objectives of our project With our project, our goals, which we have created by thinking a lot about disabilities and accessibility, are as follows; -Obtaining information about disabilities and types of disability among disadvantaged groups, -Terms about the subject become known to people, -Learning the truths of what is known wrong about the disabled, -Developing and disseminating a sense of empathy, -Ensuring empathy on the marginalisation of disabled people in society, -Accessibility and universal design principles are recognised and adopted, -Learning the types of accessibility, -Raising awareness about the difficulties experienced by people with disabilities during their participation in life, -The development of solutions to these difficulties by the community, -Evaluation of the accessibility status of Kastamonu, -Gaining detailed information about accessible technological applications and gaining awareness in this sense. In addition to these, our other goals are as follows; -Contributing to the foreign language development of youth workers, -To help them get to know different cultures and make new friendships, -To ensure that the opportunities offered by the Erasmus Plus Programmes are taken advantage of, -To increase the visibility of the Turkish National Agency and Erasmus Plus Programmes, -Support the fight against discrimination and prejudice, -To provide an understanding of the dynamics of volunteer work and to help increase the orientation towards this field, -To provide equal opportunities.
