Objectives

We aimed to empower drivers who have undergone training to independently monitor their stress levels, mental and physical health, and gain a level of awareness where they can report any adverse conditions in their working environment to their superiors throughout their professional lives.

Background

When the complaint data to EGO General Directorate between 19-25 September 2022 is examined, 2861 (42.9%) of the total 6658 complaints are related to issues that put pressure on the driver. When the in-house training given was examined, it was determined that there were no stress coping and posture trainings. Therefore, a project application was made with the aim of meeting the contemporary needs of vocational education by providing stress coping and posture training to bus drivers. In addition, by increasing the stress coping skills of bus drivers, occupational disorders of bus drivers throughout their careers will be minimized, vocational education teachers will learn good practice examples for coping with stress and posture exercises specific to the needs of bus drivers and produce new materials, to be made available to vocational education institutions. Needs such as creating up-to-date and digital content suitable for bus drivers to cope with occupational diseases and difficulties they may encounter throughout their careers, and developing a cooperation network between universities, public transportation institutions and vocational education institutions have also been met.
