The Sustainable Development Goals agreed on by the United Nations in 2015 offer a good and helpful framework to work with and teach about the present global challenges and possible solutions for them. This is why we decided, in cooperation with the Welthaus-Hiša sveta Klagenfurt, to tackle these 17 goals and pass them on to young people from different European countries. We strongly believed that the topics addressed by the SDGs are one of the essential matters for Europe and all other parts of the world. Teaching young people about these challenges, making the topics relevant to their everyday life and sparkling their motivation to make a change, is crucial for a good future in Europe. Our main goal was to spread the awareness and knowledge about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, while keeping it fun and avoiding too much theory. We wanted to make sure that the young participants and participating organisations would feel encouraged to engage themselves for a better future. The main objectives (regarding the topic of the project) were: Gained and/or improved knowledge on the topic of the project. Gained and/or improved awareness for the personal and common responsibility. Raised awareness about the importance of the global aspect of the present problematic. Improved knowledge about sustainable practices on a daily basis. Implemented sustainable way of life in the environment of the participants. Supporting long-term sustainable practices. Raised capacity of critical thinking about the information received in media, especially in social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blogs ...). Raised awareness about the importance of the solidarity and its diverse possible forms. Implemented solidary act in the everyday life of the participants. Grow the amplitude of thinking in the way that the participant will be absolutely able to change their environment in a good way. Get inspired to promote the SDGs in his/her country. Gain the motivation to live sustainably every day. Due to the international nature of the project, we also strove to reach the following objectives: Raised respect and acceptance towards the differences. Improved foreign language and mother tongue skills. Gained and/or raised knowledge about other people’s cultures, traditions, and customs. Improved creative, musical and/or sport abilities. Improved writing, documenting, filming, or photographing skills. Gained experience of the youth exchange in a foreign country (meeting with peers from EU). Acquire more knowledge about the Erasmus+, ESC volunteer service etc. Making international friends and building up a great bonding with the important values and beliefs.
