Objectives

The project “Mission Possible: Mother Earth” was brought to life with the goal of addressing the topics of combating climate change and protecting the environment. These topics are omnipresent these days and young people are especially concerned, as they are the ones who will be living with the consequences in the future. Therefore, this project aimed at bringing together young people from different countries and giving them the opportunity to connect with each other and share experiences. Although the project included activities to deepen the young people’s knowledge about the implications of climate change and environmental problems, the overall aim was to make the participants feel empowered and optimistic to contribute to a better future. This project was a continuation of two other projects we already implemented on this topic (ActNow4Tomorrow in 2021 and Eco:Logic in 2022) and we were able to enhance the quality of the project and offer the participants activities that left an impact on them. With this project we especially aimed at - Raising awareness among young people for climatic and environmental problems (e.g., pollution of air, soil, and water, use of pesticides in agriculture, etc.) and their implications (e.g., changes in temperature and weather, water scarcity, loss of biodiversity, etc.). - Giving them the opportunity to talk about their own observations of climate change. - Showing them examples of living sustainably and environmentally friendly. - Motivating the participants to be positive about the future and taking on the responsibility everyone has towards the planet. - Increasing respect for different cultures. - Giving the participants the possibility to learning about different cultures and nationalities.
