Objectives

The project partners pursued several key objectives. At the core was the development and initial implementation of a transnational EU Training Programme that provides young people with sound knowledge about the EU, its values, political processes, and volunteering. This offer was designed to be not only informative but also relevant, engaging, and practical for the target group. Another important objective was capacity building. Through collaborative project work and the first implementation of an Erasmus+ partnership project, the aim was to improve the quality of youth work and deepen the cooperation between partners. Furthermore, the project partners aimed not only to provide knowledge to young people but also to strengthen their skills, initiative, and European awareness. Graduates of the EU Training Programme were expected to act as multipliers and ambassadors of the European idea and to engage actively in civil society and political life. The project implementation itself was designed to promote European awareness and identification with the EU, while also ensuring the continued use of the methods and content developed through the project.

Background

The "Junge Europäische Föderalisten Steiermark" and "Europæisk Ungdom Danmark" are pro-European and independent youth organizations. The motivation behind developing the EU Training Programme was our desire to expand our offer for young people, take our cooperation to a new level, and inspire all participants to engage in pro-European activities. The project addressed several key needs: #1 By providing knowledge about Europe, the EU, volunteering, as well as personal and social skills, we responded to the educational and informational needs of young people. #2 Young people want to get involved, take on responsibility, and contribute their ideas. The project gave them space for active participation. #3 The transnational implementation of the project allowed the participating young people and volunteers to experience Europe and build cross-border friendships. #4 We increased the attractiveness of our organizations by building capacity and improving the quality of our youth work. #5 By training multipliers, we promote a resilient and democratic civil society.
