Objectives

The main aim of our project was to introduce participants to the concept of collective intelligence, its origins, its key principles and its ability to transform practices when used rigorously and appropriately. In a context where youth participation is a key issue for the youth sector, we were convinced that collective intelligence represented an innovative and relevant response to current challenges. Our aim was therefore not only to pass on the theoretical underpinnings, but also to give participants the opportunity to take part in concrete collaborative experiments illustrating the potential of this method. Our aim was not only to pass on the theoretical underpinnings of collective intelligence, but also to demonstrate its transformative potential in concrete terms, when applied in a rigorous and appropriate manner. The aim was both to improve young people's participation in decision-making processes, and to encourage better interaction between the young people themselves and their facilitators. Secondly, we wanted to adapt these tools to the youth sector, by exploring their use with youth groups within our associations. This adaptation was a stimulating challenge, as it involved contextualizing methods often designed for adult professional environments, in order to make them relevant to a young audience with specific needs and modes of expression. Our aim was to design a practical toolbox that could be used immediately by animators and youth workers in their day-to-day activities. Specific objectives of the project: Our project pursued several complementary objectives, all hinging on collective intelligence and strengthening the skills of youth workers: - Appropriation of fundamental concepts: to enable participants to integrate the principles of collective intelligence into their daily professional practice. - Discovery and experimentation with concrete tools: decision-making by consent, candidate-free elections, World Café, Bono's six hats method, etc. These are the CI tools we used - Intercultural exchange and sharing of best practices: fostering encounters and collaboration between youth workers from Europe and North Africa, building bridges between professionals separated by geographical, social, cultural and economic barriers. - Transposition to the youth sector: adapting methods to the specific needs of young people, to facilitate their active involvement and expression within partner organizations. - Promoting the Erasmus+ program: raise awareness of the program, particularly among players and young people in working-class neighborhoods, where these opportunities are still too little known. - Strengthening the professional network: consolidate existing partnerships and create new ones, in order to strengthen and amplify our network in the long term. The overall aim was to shift practices towards more horizontal collaboration and democratic participation, with a lasting multiplier effect in the participating organizations. The project thus aimed to contribute to the emergence of a more inclusive, participatory and innovative professional culture in the youth sector in Europe and the Maghreb.
