The training is organized in Antwerp, Belgium (Flanders), where a strong movement of grassroots organizations is using sports as a tool in youth work. The training is set up to bring youth workers basic insights into sports as a non-formal tool. The aim of this Training for youth workers is that EdUcAntwerp invites a group of Flemish trainers/youth workers from social sport practices (SSP) and puts them in touch with international peers from different countries, all with a prominent link to or interest in sport. In this way, the training hopes to be a catalyst for further development of sport as a resource, both as a methodology and further projects. The training consists of 3 phases: - A theoretical background on sport as a means of non-formal learning - Developing new sporting activities (individually and in peer-group) with clear learning objectives and testing them in practice - Brainstorm about new E+ projects (KA1, KA2) with sport as a means Concretely, the have had non-formal training developing the framework of sports as a tool and exploring how it can be used in competence development trajectories with youngsters. After experiencing, they have had time to crossbreed ideas and methods to develop a workshop building certain competences. These competences tie into the youth workers competences of Salto. We tested the workshops in local sports initiatives. During a co-financed complementary activity, the project and Belgian participants have participated in a local netwerk event with 150 social sport practitioners and stakeholders. In this, we provided dissemination material as well as provided input for workshops.
