The project was an international seminar on the theme of solidarity. The project had three objectives, which we consider as realised. The first objective of the seminar was to raise awareness. In a preparatory phase, a survey was held among the partner organisations to investigate what solidarity means to them. The outcomes were presented at the seminar, together with testimonies from some of the partner organisations. Via workshops and with the support of guest speakers, we approached solidarity from different perspectives. In smaller, thematic working groups we brought ideas together. The second objective was to develop an action plan. In a step-by-step process, the ideas generated by the working groups were consolidated, culminating in a joint mission statement for the upcoming two years. This mission statement includes recommendations and solidarity actions on different levels. All partner organisations formally expressed their commitment to this mission statement. The third objective was to implement the action plan. Together with the mission statement, the idea of a solidarity toolbox was launched. This toolbox is an open, on-going collection of resources, tools, methodologies, best practices and ideas to support, facilitate and inspire FIMCAP and its member organisations in their quest for more solidarity. This toolbox will be developed into an open, digital platform in 2024. To support the implementation of the mission statement and the further development of the solidarity toolbox, an international working group on solidarity was set up, with volunteers from different partner organisations.
