Our primary objective was to develop a generation of confident and capable young leaders who could effectively contribute to their communities and influence policy-making processes.We aimed to create an inclusive and supportive environment where young people could build their capacities, collaborate on innovative solutions, and amplify their voices in matters that directly affect them.Our goals were: - Capacity building enhancing the leadership, advocacy, and project management skills of young individuals will ensure they are equipped to design and implement impactful initiatives - Youth empowerment to foster confidence and self-efficacy among participants, enabling them to assume active roles within their communities and beyond Community engagemen to create opportunities for youth to collaborate with local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to address pressing issues - Sustainability and innovation to inspire the development of innovative and sustainable solutions to societal challenges, promoting long-term impact - Global outreach to connect youngsters with international networks, enabling cross-cultural learning and collaboration on a global scale
We applied for this project because we observed a significant gap in opportunities for young people to actively shape their communities and influence broader societal issues. Many young individuals expressed a sense of exclusion from decision-making processes and a lack of resources to channel their creativity and energy into tangible actions. These challenges were compounded by a broader need for inclusive spaces that encourage intergenerational dialogue and collaboration. Through this project, we sought to address these needs by providing structured support for young people to grow as leaders and changemakers. The initiative was designed to tackle issues such as limited access to education on civic engagement, insufficient platforms for participation in policy discussions, and the lack of tools to promote sustainability and innovation in youth-led efforts. By addressing these gaps, we aimed to foster a new generation of leaders prepared to drive positive change on local and international scales.
