With this project, we wanted to - pilot a methodology that combines futures, storytelling, arts, and youth work methods to engage young people in the public debate and in the shaping of our societies, and that allows to voice visions of young people that trigger conversation and imagination - improve futures literacy and storytelling competences of young people and people working with/for young people - trigger conversation and imagination around the position and vision of young people in society
We applied for this project to creatively engage young people in expressing their views on their city, their futures, and key societal issues. Our goal was to empower them by transforming their ideas into artistic outputs they could proudly share with others. We also aimed to introduce them to Futures Literacy—a skill recognized by UNESCO as essential for navigating the 21st century—through hands-on, experiential learning rather than theory alone. In addition, the project supported young creatives in building confidence in their artistic practice by connecting them with professional artists and encouraging co-creation of meaningful work. As a result, we successfully fostered meaningful engagement between young people and creative professionals around the themes of Futures and Peace.
