Objectives

The REACT4women project combines EcoTourism, Social Inclusion and Game-based Learning under one goal: To re-integrate into social life women aged 16-26 years old who have completed a rehabilitation program by helping them become re-motivated through environmentally-minded activities and develop skills that are required by the 21-century labour market. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: -Raising awareness about different forms of discrimination against young vulnerable women (stigmatization, misperception, etc.), the need to include them in European societies, and the required skills to increase their employability in the marke, starting by the Cultural and Ecotourism industry -Developing non-formal education materials in the form of OERs to support and train young women in basic skills, such as personal and interpersonal skills, digital, green skills, and entrepreneurial skills -Creating a serious card game as an alternative to traditional learning to engage and motivate young women to participate in the learning process and in community actions -Implementing physical activities related to eco-tourism where young women had the chance to apply their skills in community actions -Providing a framework to support open cross-sectoral communication

Background

Before the crisis, the tourism sector was regarded as a significant employer in G20 nations, contributing to the socioeconomic growth of women. The fact that many people have lost their jobs after COVID-19 is one of the most striking repercussions. On the other side, ecotourism has been extensively utilized for social inclusion and community empowerment, focusing on women's empowerment. When it comes to social inclusion, women who have completed rehabilitation programs are more stigmatized and have less chances to reintegrate, which could cause them to acquire new addictions. To strengthen inclusive initiatives, Europe focuses social investments to assist at least 20 million people who are at risk of social exclusion. The European Social Fund & Social Investment Package really promote E&T for social inclusion. Since they have not yet been included in the initiatives' key targets, women who have finished rehabilitation programs still run the risk of exclusion. Even if rehabilitation facilities offer job opportunities, the social integration of women remains contentious. REACT4women comes as a unique chance to help these women's social inclusion as well as to develop a skilled workforce for the EU's economic & sustainable growth.
