Objectives

The training course "Skin in the Game" aimed to gather youth workers to enhance their leadership skills, gain more knowledge about youth work, and increase their motivation to work with young people. The target group of the project consisted of young leaders who were beginning to be active in youth work and needed more experience to become independent leaders capable of organizing activities on their own. The idea for this training reflected the needs of our organization as well as those of our partners. We discussed with all our partner organizations and agreed on the following needs that the project addressed: • Many young people in our organizations, aged between 17 and 25, were interested in becoming youth leaders but needed proper training and more experience. • There was a need to motivate these young leaders to be more active in the organization, take up responsibilities, and organize activities independently. We and our partners also spoke with potential participants of the project, who expressed the following needs to feel more confident as youth workers: • Practicing skills in leading activities and working in teams with other youth workers. • Gaining knowledge about youth work and exploring possible ways of working with young people. • Establishing international contacts to organize activities on an international level and connect with others facing similar challenges. The aims of the project were as follows: To raise the quality of youth work carried out by the partner organizations by improving the professional skills of emerging youth leaders. 1. To increase the capacity of the organizations to address the specific needs of the young people they work with by discussing these needs with the participants and finding solutions. 2. To enhance the knowledge of the participants in the field of youth work, improve their leadership skills, and motivate them to take active roles as leaders in their organizations. 3. To organize at least three follow-up activities per country to impact the young people the organization works with. 4. To design a learning space in Gather.town for participants and our organizations to implement various online educational activities, promoting and improving online youth work in all partner countries. 5. To strengthen cooperation between youth organizations by creating new contacts among young members, fostering potential international activities and projects. 6. To involve partner organizations with little experience in Erasmus+ and help them develop the capacity to organize such projects themselves.
