There is unquestionable pressure from society on individuals through the media and social networks, which we must be able to cope with. Research on Social Media and its Effects on Mental Health and Impact of Social Media on Self-Esteem published on the European Scientific Journal by the European Scientific Institute has found that the use of social media directly affects and has a very strong impact on the self-esteem of young people, who not only use these social networks to seek information, communicate and build relationships, but also often use them to compare themselves with others, feelings of inadequacy and inferiority. The Internet is available everywhere, social networks are used by teenagers from the age of 12, and it is necessary to communicate with them that not everything they see there is reality and to prevent major negative effects on their mental health in the form of depression and feelings of not being enough. The main goal of our project is to bring together youth workers who are interested in actively addressing media pressure on young people and together create innovative tools that can open up the topics of sexism, shaming, body shaming, gender shaming... and talk about phenomena on social media in a safe space, so that young people are aware of what they see there and it does not negatively affect their psyche. Our project has a clearly defined project goal and measurable sub-goals that can be measured to determine the impact on the regular work of the participating youth workers and their organisations. We rely on the active involvement of the participating organisations and youth workers, who play an active role in all phases of the project, thus strengthening their practical experience in learning and self-development.
