Objectives

The TC was dedicated to exploring tools and methods of Gender Mainstreaming in order to ensure better social inclusion specifically in youth work and specifically in the new realities we find ourselves in for the last 2 years. By carrying out this project, our partnership aimed to deepen our shared understanding of how to implement Gender Mainstreaming in everyday youth work, on practical, logistical, educational, emotional needs levels etc. The important ambition we had for this project, was to address the need to implement gender mainstreaming and social inclusion in the “new reality” we live and do youth work in today. Namely, the reality of world post-COVID, of war in Ukraine, and exceeding attacks on democracy and human rights in Europe (be it anti-abortion legislation in Poland, attack on democracy in Hungary and some Balkan countries, or an influx of young ukrainians, predominantly women who find themselves in very vulnerable position, all over Europe). Finally, we have realized that we needed a dedicated activity with the focus on applying the theoretical knowledge to the very specific needs of youth work today. TC’s main goal was: To enhance youth workers’ knowledge and competences of Gender Mainstreaming in order to increase equality and inclusion in their work with youth Therefore, the objectives of the TC were: -Deepening participants’ overall knowledge of gender equality and gender based social inclusion -Enhancing participants’ practical skills of gender mainstreaming in youth work -Exploring gender mainstreaming strategies in different contexts, especially in connection with migration and radicalization of gender discourse in partner countries -Ensuring the exchange of good practices in implementing gender mainstreaming/ inclusion -Promoting Gender Equality and Gender Mainstreaming as an essential part of European values and human rights In our partnership, we see human rights, equality and inclusion as the cornerstones of our work, which is reflected in the very name of this project - GEMS - something that we is truly valuable, precious, and worth protecting.
