The project partners, Infinity Centrum/CZ and Asociación Building Bridges/SP, applied for the UMEU project to respond to the urgent and multifaceted needs of Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic and Spain, who faced significant barriers to rapid social and labor inclusion, language acquisition, and access to essential resources. The project aimed to facilitate their integration by promoting practical language skills specifically tailored to local job markets in the Agribusiness and Hospitality sectors, while also publicizing freely available resources to enhance accessibility. A key focus was strengthening youth workers’ competencies in refugee inclusion, icebreaking and teamwork methods, as well as digital and intercultural skills, equipping them to better support refugee youth. UMEU prioritized improving the quality and innovation of youth work through the creation of a new curriculum and the development of digital teaching tools for Czech and Spanish languages. Ultimately, the project sought to foster employability, socio-educational advancement, and personal development among Ukrainian refugee youth, thereby contributing to their sustainable inclusion, empowerment, and active participation within their host communities.
