Objectives

The project ‘Building Bridges through Interreligious Dialogue’ was implemented to open the topic of interreligious dialogue among young people and address the rising hate speech towards people coming from different religious backgrounds in the participant's countries: Germany, Serbia, North Macedonia, Turkey, Spain, Poland and Croatia. Moreover, we aimed to raise understanding among young people on the importance of respect and tolerance towards people coming from different backgrounds and religions and discussed the topics connected with the future of Europe where people with different cultures, traditions, and languages live. Furthermore, the project aimed to create a safe space in which the participants felt comfortable discussing the topics of interreligious dialogue, religious diversity in participating countries, and fighting hate speech and religious discrimination. Overall, the youth exchange ‘Building Bridges through Interreligious Dialogue’ aimed to meet up following objectives: -to open the topic of interreligious dialogue, to explore the religious diversity in participating countries; -to create a safe space to discuss the roots of religious discrimination, hate speech strongly present in all participating countries; -to look for ways of creating more open and inclusive societies and communities respecting people coming from different religious backgrounds; -to develop participant’s competencies such as communication, and teamwork and provide them an opportunity to fully benefit from the Erasmus + Programme international youth activity; -to create an inspiring environment and to support brainstorming ideas for future projects in the international field; -to create a short movie - key project result to bring the topic of interreligious dialogue closer to young people in participating communities; -to organize movie projections in participating countries to open the topic of interreligious dialogue and to present Erasmus + Programme to a wider audience.
