Objectives

We want to encourage the participants to actively shape their future and take it into their own hands. Our goal is to provide the participants with methods, skills, and thought-provoking stimuli to make the world a better place. In concrete terms, we intend to create a place for discussion, exchange, networking, and learning with our youth exchange "Living in solidarity with each other". On the one hand, the participating youths will improve their handicraft skills and create such a space in a structurally weak region of Saxony-Anhalt for local young people. On the other hand, we will build our own little society during the event. Together we will discuss, learn, laugh, deal with conflicts and work out solutions. During the 21 days, we will build a small Europe and deal with the differences and similarities of the individual countries, cultures, approaches, and our own privileges. During the Youth Exchange, participants will experience in a very concrete way the effect of being actively involved in what is going on. Through discussion and reflection, participants will realize that our small society can also be transferred to a European context. They will realize that every voice counts and that political engagement can make a difference - just like taking to the streets against war or racism. Through the group experience, they will learn that each individual is an important part of society because everyone brings unique, individual skills to the table. Participants will learn to organise themselves, work in groups, collaborate and find compromises when needed. In workshops, participants will learn about communication and conflict management to overcome any challenges that may arise. The participants will also learn different manual skills and explore the management of resources and more environmentally friendly alternatives. In the course of creating their own project, the focus will not only be on the end result but also on the journey to get there. Participants will work in small groups through all the steps of project planning, delivery, and presentation. With this youth meeting, we want to overcome racism and xenophobia by increasing tolerance and understanding of other cultures and people and by dismantling stereotypes. Through encounters, living together, a lot of communication about similarities and differences, the discussion of conflicts, and mutual experiences and achievements, we will gradually come closer to this goal. We will also make sure to include participants with physical, linguistic, or social limitations. At various levels, the participants will learn many different aspects from and with each other. Through an understanding of new and different approaches, participants will be able to step into the future with a different mindset.
