Aim of the project was to enable young people with special needs to gain intercultural experience. Goals of the project were to reduce young people's insecurities when dealing with people from other countries and cultures who speak a different language. Young people should develop more tolerance and reduce prejudices. The young people should learn to be more open to people from other countries and cultures. By examining the history of Ungarndeutsche, they should understand emigration movements as part of the history of EU citizens and thereby be promoted in their understanding of EU citizenship. Participation in the project should also increase the young people's self-confidence. Higher self-confidence leads to greater competence in dealing with other people.
