With this International Youth Exchange, we wanted to create an opportunity for young people from disadvantaged communities and different social backgrounds in Portugal, Slovakia, Finland, Bulgaria and Germany to come into real contact with themselves and others, to learn and share in an encouraging and safe environment in Serra de Estrela and Lisbon. We provided access for young people: Through our partners who work and live in very challenging communities and are committed to change their circumstances. They have involved young people with fewer opportunities and made this experience possible for them. We encouraged participation: Through methods that inspire young people to participate. Through this exchange, they built unforgettable friendships with young people from different social backgrounds, helping each other to build a positive self-image, which also has a positive impact on future steps - career, education, social activation and others. With the theme "Let's open windows para novas esperanças, young people climb the star mountains to explore ways out of fears for our future", we wanted to provide a safe space for young participants to talk about their concerns and fears, not only about the future, but also about personal issues and topics: family, education, society, self-awareness and also, exchange new ideas and experiences as good practices and skill for their lives.
