The main idea to carry out the youth exchange ‘Young Digital Nomads’ came up from a group of young people involved in our activities. They expressed interest to develop their digital competencies and learn digital tools which they can use in the job-seeking process. Moreover, they asked for an opportunity to address the topic of safe in online space and pointed out the negative impact of social media on youth development. We drafted the project idea and we approached several organizations with which whom we have established contacts. They expressed their interest in the topic and together we prepared this project to address three main issues: -digital world, digital competencies and employment: how to use digital media effectively to present ourselves, to find job opportunities; -digital world and online platforms as tools for self-learning and developing competencies: how to use various online platforms to take courses, to work on personal and professional development; -being safe online: how to be present online in a safe way and reduce negative effects of the digital world, and online media. Objectives of youth exchange ‘Young Digital Nomads.’: -to increase the digital competencies of young people enabling them to effectively use digital platforms e.g. in job seeking process, for self-learning; -to increase understanding of young people on the challenges linked to personal safety in digital space and to develop their competencies to stay safe while online; -to raise awareness of young people on a digital framework for citizens provided by the European Commission in 2013; -to produce several results which will be used outside of this YE as learning materials for young people and those working with young people and addressing the topic of digital competencies: booklet, blog and series of videos; -to increase the knowledge of the participants on the Erasmus + Programme and to encourage them to be actively involved in international mobility activities.
