Involving young people in the fight against climate change is crucial for securing a sustainable future, especially now when we are feeling the impact of climate change all around the world more then ever before. That is why the importance of young people in this struggle cannot be ignored. The fresh perspectives, energy, and innovative ideas broth by them are invaluable assets in tackling this global crisis is also vital to their own future. So, it is vital, that they take over a prominent role in early on. The focus to our mission was raising awareness among young people about the importance of preserving nature and protecting the environment. We discussed various strategies to address human-caused climate change and combat the alarming decline of ecosystems. While acknowledging progress made in local and international efforts over recent decades, we underscored the ongoing need for further action. A major objective of this project was empowering participants to take action trough various creative workshops, educational games, and giving them a creative space for self reflection and brainstorming. In that way we not only cultivated a sense of responsibility and stewardship, but also ensured that they are equipped to address the environmental challenges of tomorrow. Inspiring young people to do meaningful change and create a world where every individual plays an important role, no matter how small it may seem, in protecting our and creating a more sustainable future for all was one of the main goals of this project. Another objective was to provide an environment conducive to the goal to awaken the spirit of environmental action. So, we implemented the exchange in the nature with tents, biking, collective transportation, eating self-prepared food, sport activities like hiking, biking, yoga, and so on. By visiting different places in Germany - urban – semi urban – rural - we enabled the participants to see the differences between wild and rewilded nature, anthropogenic nature (mainly dominated by agriculture) and completely transformed nature (farming). In the Neustrelitz area they could enjoy numerous lakes, almost untouched nature, see hectares and hectares of cultivated arable land that gradually decreased as they approached the city bustle of Berlin, where people are trying to find alternative solutions for growing agricultural goods, keeping the spirit of sustainability, using bicycles as a very popular mean on transportation, showing that and preserving the environment is also possible in a big urban area. A last objective was to make participants directly encounter „environmentalists“, to understand their actions, motivations and aims. Through learning by example, participants showed be able to picture themselves on different levels of activities in the future contributing to the protection of nature.
