Objectives

The main aim of the project "Trees On, Deforestation Gone" was to increase young people's awareness and knowledge about the importance of planting trees and protecting forests. The project aimed to educate young people about the environmental and economic benefits of trees, and to encourage them to take action against deforestation and global pollution. The objectives of the youth exchange "Trees On, Deforestation Gone" were as follows: - To increase young people's competencies and knowledge on the importance of planting trees, specifically highlighting the environmental and economic benefits that they provide. - To raise awareness among young people about the dangers that deforestation and global pollution pose to our society, with the aim of encouraging them to be more environmentally conscious and fight against these issues. - To give young people with fewer opportunities a chance to experience non-formal education and learn more about the Erasmus+ Programme. - To increase awareness about issues such as deforestation and global pollution among the general public, by showcasing the efforts and actions taken by the participants of the youth exchange. - To support the European Green Deal in reaching climate neutrality by teaching modern youth about the threat of deforestation and global pollution, and inspiring them to take action towards a greener future. - To inform participants about the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and how their actions and efforts towards the protection and restoration of forests align with multiple articles of this agenda, such as good health and well-being, quality education, and climate action. Overall, the main objective of the project was to empower young people with the knowledge and skills necessary to become active agents of change towards a more sustainable future, specifically in regards to the protection and restoration of forests. Through various activities, workshops, and discussions, the youth exchange aimed to create a safe and inclusive space where participants could learn from each other and work together towards a common goal. The success of the project was measured by the extent to which participants were able to apply their newfound knowledge and skills towards concrete actions in their local communities, as well as the extent to which they were able to inspire others to do the same.
