Objectives

The "Dream in Action" project was created with the aim of empowering youth workers with the use of visual thinking tools. The project targeted prevalent issues faced by the youth, such as unemployment, social exclusion, and the violation of human rights. By incorporating visual methodologies into their educational practices, youth workers can create a more engaging and inclusive learning environment. The objectives of the project were diverse. Firstly, the project aimed to raise awareness and understanding of visual thinking tools among educators and youth workers, thereby opening up new avenues for communication and learning. Secondly, the project sought to help participants develop their visual language, including creating and using a personal library of visual elements such as symbols and metaphors. This would enable them to convey complex ideas more effectively. Thirdly, the project aimed to equip participants with the skills to use sketch-noting and graphic recording techniques, which are useful in capturing ideas and discussions visually during workshops and meetings. This enhances engagement and retention of information. Additionally, the project introduced participants to a range of digital and online visual tools, expanding their toolkit for facilitating learning in an increasingly digital world. The final objective of the project was to create a set of visual tools that would aid in self-directed learning, enabling youth workers to continue developing their skills beyond the life of the project. Achieving these objectives would not only improve the quality of youth work but also contribute to policy-making in education, promoting the adoption of visual thinking strategies in a broader scale.
