With this project, we wanted to give our contribution to the attainment of SDG 4.7 and goal 8 of the European Union Youth Strategy 2019-2027 on quality education and share our expertise in the field, realizing three training courses on Global Citizenship Education (GCED) for Youth workers. They deal with different GCEDs and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) topics but they share the same main objective of promoting the mainstreaming of these transformative approaches in young people's learning contexts. We wanted to reach especially those educators who live in those countries in Europe that are struggling more to ensure quality GCEDs such as the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and Italy, as revealed by a recent statistic carried out by Our World in Data. The purpose was to empower the youth workers involved to implement future GCED projects in their local contexts. In fact, the main aim of Global Citizenship Education is to empower learners to engage, assume their responsibilities, and contribute to designing a more peaceful, inclusive, fair, and sustainable world. Youth workers in this way are better equipped and may have valuable tools enabling them to open to the world the young people they work with on a daily basis, sowing the seed from which will sprout ideas of peace and healthy, altruistic behavior in the adults of tomorrow. During the project activities, there was the opportunity for youth workers to discuss the teaching and educational methods they normally use and try to rethink their role as guides for young people in the chaos of the globalized world in which they are growing up. The focus was on sustainability in its fullest sense. The youth workers were able to reflect on how to make their workplaces more inclusive and environmentally friendly, and their diet and consumption patterns, more conscious. Specific objectives: 1) Redesign instruction and acquisition of knowledge in an interactive and learner-centered way in order to enable transformative, exploratory, and action-oriented learning 2) Rethink educational contexts in a way that inspires students to act for sustainability and respect for human rights. 3) Enable Youth Workers to see the global problems of society, define their causes and consequences, and become actors of change 4) Develop and disseminate good practices on ESD and GCED within and between European countries to better implement education programs and enhance international cooperation and understanding of the importance of these approaches. 5) Encourage a multi-stakeholder and interdisciplinary approach and ensure ESD and GCED at all levels in formal and nonformal education. 6) Realize 3 educational videos on the purposes and different methods of Global Citizenship Education using stop-motion graphics techniques.
