Objectives

First of all, we defined the term “Digital Entrepreneurship”: Digital entrepreneurship was a term that described how entrepreneurship changed as business and society continued to be transformed by digital technology. Digital entrepreneurship was broadly defined as creating new ventures and transforming existing businesses by developing novel digital technologies and/or novel usage of such technologies (European Commission, 2015). Digital entrepreneurial capacity depended largely on digital entrepreneurial behavior, culture, and strategies, as well as a supportive innovation ecosystem in which governments, industry, business, educational institutions, and NGOs (non-government organizations) worked together. Therefore, a holistic and integrative approach was needed. Digital Enterprises were characterized by a high intensity of utilization of new digital technologies (particularly social, mobile, analytics, and cloud solutions) to improve business operations, invent new (digital) business models, sharpen business intelligence, and engage with customers and stakeholders through new (digital) channels. For that reason, we believed ICT knowledge was strictly necessary to increase entrepreneurship, to raise awareness within the population of the importance of entrepreneurship, and to promote the knowledge of youth about entrepreneurship. “Digital entrepreneurship and youth” reflected a strategic objective of the EU framework for cooperation in Education and Training 2020 (ET2020) to improve the quality and efficiency of education and training. This objective included supporting the acquisition of key competencies, one of which was digital competence (confident and critical use of information society technology (IST) and basic skills in information communication technology (ICT). Therefore, the project had a series of specific objectives: •O1: To master the personal and professional skills necessary to successfully start a project, team, or company, O2: To promote the good practices of teamwork, international vision, interdisciplinary practice, and problem-solving, O3: To develop an understanding of how innovation and creative processes could be translated into tangible actions and objectives in all business areas while always respecting the principles of corporate social responsibility, •O4: To gain a comprehensive view of the role of ICTs in the current business environment, •O5: To promote critical thinking, analytical, practical skills, and leadership, O6: To develop critical thinking, analytical, practical skills, and leadership skills, O7: To learn how to develop comprehensive business plans and strategic communication management for start-ups.
